Voices of Impact

Baba Tyohemba Gbaki

Fire Victim - Mbakuha, Ushongo LGA

" I experienced a serious fire accident while cooking. The fire started at my cooking spot and quickly spread, destroying my house and leaving me with nothing.

The financial help I received has come at the right time and I can now rebuild my house. "

Ruth Erdoo Tarhule

Student - Lessel, Ushongo

" I am at a loss for words. My dad paid for my education, but he passed away two years ago. I could not keep up with my school fees. Even so, I continued studying, but my results were held back because I still owe fees. I thought I had lost all hope, but the Mzehemen U Tiv Foundation has given me hope again. "

Mama Selumun

Widow - Tomahar, Ushongo

" My husband was ill and was admitted to the hospital, but we couldn’t afford the medical bills. We reached out to the Mzehemen U Tiv Foundation through Professor Kohol Iornem, and they were able to provide us with some support.

Unfortunately, a couple of months later, my husband passed away. Professor Kohol Iornem then contacted me to check on my welfare. I told him that since my husband's passing, I have been unable to do anything. Previously, I used to sell garri in Gboko to make ends meet.

I am happy to share that, through the Mzehemen U Tiv Foundation, I have received funding to restart my business. "

Fidelis

Student, Konshisha LGA

" I lost my dad at a very tender age. We are five children, and my mum struggled to see us through school. After completing my secondary school in 2018, I wanted to study for a BSc in Computer Science but did not have money for my education.

I had been struggling to survive until I approached the Founder of Mzehemen u Tiv Foundation, Prof Kohol Iornem for a scholarship, and he said while he may not have the budget for a full scholarship, he enrolled me to learn computing at SACS Computers. He paid for my training, certification and transportation expenses.

I have completed the training successfully, and with this ICT skill, I have now been offered a job in Lagos with an accommodation package."
